Special Project:

The Believe In Tomorrow Cottage By The Sea

Believe In Tomorrow has obtained a beach house on 65th Street just off of the back deck of the Children’s House By The Sea on 66th Street in Ocean City, MD. Our plan is to transform this house into an “iconic old Ocean City style” beach house.

What Is Our Vision and Why is This House So Important?
Our vision for the house after it is renovated is for it to have a beachy, comfortable, and whimsical look. We want the critically ill children and family members who stay there to immediately sense that they are in a very special place that offers comfort, relaxation and plenty of opportunities to experience joy and happiness. There are some very creative ideas we are working on to achieve this.

Our plan is to transform this house into an “iconic old Ocean City style” beach house that will serve:

  • Military pediatric families.
  • Larger families that may require the assistance of medical support or extended family support.
  • End of life circumstances that promote the inclusion of grandparents.

What is needed?
We are going to be starting a renovation process that will incorporate volunteer labor and materials. Home Depot is making a major contribution and we need professional trades such as plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. to join our team of volunteers. We will also need unskilled volunteer labor and help throughout the renovation. This is how we have built each of our nine Believe In Tomorrow Pediatric Respite and Hospital Houses and facilities. Anyone that is interested in participating can email Believe In Tomorrow CEO Brian Morrison directly at or call our main office 410-744-1032. Our goal is to make this a fun and very rewarding project to work on.

Volunteer by the sea, on the bay, or in Fenwick Island
Live in or around the Ocean City area? If you’re willing to lend us a hand and join our most dedicated community of volunteers, check out the volunteer opportunities available and then submit your volunteer application to be considered! Our beach respite houses include the Believe In Tomorrow House By The Sea on 66th Street and the Believe In Tomorrow House On the Bay on 28th Street (both in Ocean City, MD), as well as the Believe In Tomorrow House on Fenwick Island in the Mallard Lakes community of Fenwick Island, DE.

Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome families on their first day of respite, answer questions, give them keys, and tour them through their respite home (seasonal & often weekends).

Deep Cleaners
Create a safe and welcoming place for families to stay by joining our deep cleaning team. This is an “as needed” opportunity.

Regular Cleaning Crews
Keep our six beach respite units spotless between family visits by coming in after scheduled checkouts to make the condos sparkle.

We need your help with planning, executing, and fundraising for many annual events in Ocean City, MD, and the surrounding area.

Beach Items
The children and families who visit our oceanfront properties love to play with sand toys and relax in beach chairs or on cozy beach towels. We’re in constant need of new beach items to replace those that are lost or broken during play.

Outdoor Maintenance
Help us battle the salty air and gusty winds at each facility by pulling weeds, sweeping or power washing decks and siding, and maintaining our many gardens.

Wish List Drives
Anyone can become a volunteer by organizing and hosting a wish list drive for our facilities. This is a great opportunity for a school, community, or social group to help with! Please contact us at 410-723-2842 to find out our biggest needs at this time.
